COVID Policy
Millbridge Swim Team COVID-19 Policy
The following plan is based on information drawn from numerous swim and health professionals and organizations, including governmental agencies, healthcare professionals, industry groups (such as USA Swimming), and other swim leagues. Our goal is to follow closely in the footsteps of other organizations, drawing on their innovations and hard work. The Marlins Board of Directors and Head Coach believe this plan, while not perfect, creates the best environment to provide a positive summer swim league experience, while prioritizing the health and safety of all participants.
The health and safety of the coaches and swimmers, and their respective families, is a top priority for the MillBridge Marlins. As such, we are asking our swimmers, coaches, and any team volunteers to not attend any organized Swim Team activity. If you:
Have had COVID-19 and do not have a doctor’s note permitting you to return to practice or work.
Have been tested for COVID-19 with a PCR test but have not received results yet (including anyone in your household) -
Have been in close contact with anyone who has had COVID-19 in the past two weeks.
Do not feel well.
Have a temperature above 100.00º within the past 48 hours.
As a commitment to facilitate this, the Marlins will do the following:
Designate a COVID-19 Point of Contact.
- This individual will be your point of contact if your swimmer or a family member has tested positive for COVID-19.
- This person will also notify families if your swimmer is identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19.
- In the event of a positive case within a member of the team or coaching staff an email like the following will be sent to everyone in the team email database.
- Attention Millbridge Marlins Families. We were informed that a Millbridge Marlins swimmer tested positive for COVID-19. If your child was identified as a close contact with the individual who tested positive, our team’s designated COVID-19 Point of Contact will follow-up with you directly with further guidance.
Coaches will track swimmer lane assignments to better assist team and local health officials if any contact tracing is needed.
Coaches will work to utilize both ends of the pool for starting drills to alternate congregating between lanes during practice.
Coaches will not hold huddles with swimmers and will work to maintain social distancing as recommended by the CDC.
Please note that the specifics of this plan are subject to change and that this notice was provided during the team’s parents meeting, via email and posted on MillBridgeMarlins.swimtopia.com
